Women's health is an important topic area to guide a woman through the stages of her life, as well as knowing the conditions and diseases that may occur

In 1900, a woman's life span was about 50 years. Now, in the new millennium, average life expectancy for  women is 79 years of age, and it is continuing to rise. Women's health is the concept that examines gendar differences in health and disease states. The average life expectancy has almost doubled for women (from 7+years for women and 73 years for men), when compared with averages during the turn of the century. Becuase of the gender gap in lifespan, women comprise approximately two thrides of the poulation older than 65 and three fourths of the population aged 85 years nd older. It is estimated that at the beginning of the twenty-first century, women will outnumber men in the 85 years and older catagory by 3:1. The reason for this variance are primarily due to physiological differences among men and women.
